How to register for SHPE membership
These are the steps for national SHPE membership. Our campus student interest form is separate — you can complete it before registering nationally.

Open SHPE Connect
Choose Join Now. Create your SHPE Connect account, or sign in if you already have one.
Go to SHPE Connect ↗03
Select Join or Renew
Choose the membership option that fits your status. Most eligible college STEM students will use Undergraduate Membership.

Complete your profile
Select your SHPE region and chapter, then add those selections to your cart. If Cal Poly Maritime Academy is not listed, choose the appropriate SHPE Region At-Large option rather than selecting an unrelated school. You can still participate in our local student-led organization.

Review and finish
Review your member type, region and chapter in the cart, then check out. SHPE currently lists undergraduate membership at $10/year; confirm the current fee before payment. If cost is a barrier, SHPE also offers financial-hardship voucher assistance.

Stay connected locally
Save your confirmation and membership ID (available under Member Details in SHPE Connect). Then join our local interest list to hear about meetings, conferences, and opportunities. National membership and local interest registration are separate.
Local student interest form ↗Important: Completing the campus interest form does not automatically create national SHPE membership, and national registration does not automatically submit our local interest form. This guide reflects the published SHPE process; on-screen wording can change.
